Death Knight Leveling Guide

When you dawn a DK for as your class there will be several differences from the other ways to train. The first thing you will notice is you do not have any talent points, even though you’re starting at level 55 instead of level 1. However, while questing in Ebon Hold they will offer talent points as part of your reward. This is great, but it still doesn’t help you level up any faster.

It’s one of the many reasons why DK lovers turn to a Death Knight leveling guide for help. You will find various tips to cut back on time, how to properly build your Blood, Frost, or Unholy talent trees, as well as various other pointers along the way.

The talent builds are important because you want to boost your fighting and speed capabilities to down your enemies quickly. You already have an advantage by wearing plate armor, but with the addition of a Blood/Unholy build you would dominate your leveling. The information below is based on leveling solo.

Adding Your Talent Points

Beginning with the Blood talents, Butchery should be your first choice. You will also want to restore your Hit Points (HP) whenever possible, which means you should fill the Rune Tap and Improved Rune Tap abilities. If you utilize Vendetta, Mark of Blood, Blood Worms, Blood Aura, and Vampiric Blood, chances are you won’t be dying much while you quest.

Then of course when you add Hysteria, Hearth Strike, Might of Mograine, Blood Gorged and Dancing Rune Weapon your damaging abilities will skyrocket.

Two of the best abilities you can use is Morbidity and Corpse Explosion. This is why you want to utilize the Unholy tree as well so you can be more effective. Anticipation also gives you a 5% Dodge chance and extra stats are available through the Shadow of Death ability.

You will also enjoy the Death Grip, especially if you have a reduced cooldown present. Just remember that questing is about time and the faster you do it the better. This is why it’s imperative to get the On a Pale Horse setup. It definitely reduces your travel time, but you lose 20% on your stun and fear effects.

Overall though this build is tough to beat. However, it’s specifically for solo leveling. If you plan to jump into the Battlegrounds and take on the Horde or Alliance you have to respec, but it can be effective depending on your level of play. Since you have plenty of health gaining abilities and a couple AoE options, reaching 80 should be a breeze.
