The Warlock Talent Build for Faster Leveling
When you first start out with a Warlock the questing is quite easy. Blizzard has boosted the Warlock’s stats tremendously, but you should still think about your talent build as you progress through the game. Taking the time to do this on your own can be more like a trial and error process instead of a benefit. It’s one of the many reasons people turn to class strategy guides.
Level 40 and Below
You can change your talent build at anytime, but the more times you do it the more gold it’s going to cost. So get it right the first time so you can reach level 40 faster. DoTs are going to be extremely important, and if you’re not familiar with these this stands for; “Damage Over Time.” In the beginning stages (level 10) you can start by adding points to your Curse of Agony and Corruption abilities.
Once you reach the next you have to use Improved Life Tap and max it out. We also recommend maxing the Improved Drain Soul so you can replenish mana when you’re about to kill someone. We also recommend adding 1 point to your Improved Curse of Weakness just so you can reduce the attack power of your enemies. After all, it doesn’t take long for cloth wearers to go down.
Your next 5 talent points can be put in your Improved Shadow Bolt ability. Keep in mind this is in the Destruction talent tree. By now you should be 15 points in or level 24. Where you go from here is up to you, but something I learned from a Warlock strategy guide awhile back is to start protecting yourself with either increased Stamina (Demonic Embrace) or less damage taken (Molten Skin). It doesn’t really matter though because you will want to max them both out.
By this time you will be level 30 and flying through your questing duties. The rest of your questing is easy thanks to the Dungeon Finder and all the quests along the way. I personally went with the Fel Concentration in the Affliction tree. It takes away from having to deal with pushbacks while casting, and when it’s maxed out you reduce it by 70%.
Last but not least you can add 2 points into Improved Fear and then open up Empowered Corruption. This increases the damage of your Corruption spell by 36% of your spell power. It will be the perfect finishing touch to reaching level 40 and being able to Dual Spec. Once you reach this plateau then it’s going to be up to your world of warcraft strategy guide to take you the rest of the way.
